Nineteen Blockbuster locations across Central Virginia operated by Bay Management, a franchisee of Blockbuster, Inc., will close on Jan. 3.
The list includes two stores in Lynchburg, on Old Forest Road and on Timberlake Road, as well as the store in Madison Heights. Other locations are Blacksburg, Charlottesville, Christiansburg, Daleville, Harrisonburg, Lexington, Martinsville, Roanoke, Salem, Staunton, Waynesboro, Winchester and Vinton, according to a news release issued on Friday.
Rental transactions ceased on Wednesday. Any product out for rental will need to be returned to any of these Blockbuster locations by the due date.
The stores began a liquidation sale on Thursday.
