»  Comments | Post a Comment

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce recognized the Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce with its highest rating, a five-star accreditation.

This is the second time in a row the chamber received accreditation. This puts the chamber in the top 1 percent of all chambers nationwide, said Rex Hammond, president and chief executive officer of the Lynchburg chamber.

The local chamber put in more than six months work on the accreditation, which is based on metrics that can be applied to all communities, like finance, government affairs and communication.

Chambers musts reapply for accreditation every five years. The Lynchburg chamber previously received the five-star rating in 2006.
