VARINA — Country music legend Jimmy Dean has never once considered leaving his Virginia home — not even after a fire in April caused extensive damage to the property.
Dean, 80, and his wife, Donna, are staying on the Henrico County property until the main house is fully repaired, which should be in January.

Currently in a "party house," the couple will move into a guest house once renovations there are complete.
Donna Dean didn't say how much the fire ultimately cost, but says their insurance company has so far paid them about $2 million.
Henrico fire officials say an electrical problem caused the April 20 blaze.
Dean is best known for the 1961 recording "Big Bad John," a Grammy-winning mining tale performed in his spoken-word style.
