It’s time again for the annual home tour in which visitors can get to the houses by land or by water.
It’s the annual Smith Mountain Lake Charity Home Tour, now nearly two decades old. This year, the doors of eight homes will be thrown open to visitors.
The tour is set to take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday.

The Gantt home, Lakefield Drive
The Fuzi home, South Pointe Lane
The Gusso home, Park Place Drive
The Lampkin home, Marvin Gardens Drive
The Heck home, Blackwater Circle
The Redden home, Blackwater Circle
The Agrio home, Milestone Lane
Proceeds from the tour, which costs $30 per day, go to Bedford Christian Ministries Association, Bedford Hospice House, Crisis Line of Central Virginia, Free Clinic of Central Virginia, Free Clinic of Franklin County, Lynchburg Daily Bread, Moneta Volunteer Fire Department and Roanoke Valley Interfaith Hospitality Network.
During the past 18 years, the tour has raised more than $3.5 million for regional charities according to Jo-Ann van Vechten of the SML Charity Home Tour board of directors.
