This10-On-Your-Side Health Team Mythbuster Monday focuses on arthritis, and whether or not the pain associated with it gets worse depending on the weather.
We checked with an orthopedic surgeon who explained how changes in the weather can affect your joints--- and the pain you feel from day to day.
Does joint pain gets worse with rain, or do you really feel older when it's colder?
According to Dr. Joseph Moskal, Carilion Clinic Orthopaedics:
-That myth is TRUE
-When air pressure drops on cold and rainy days, areas with arthritis expand with fluid, causing joint pain
-Warm, dry climates don't mean arthritis relief
-Before moving to a warm, dry area, visit for a couple of weeks first
-Leaving a support system of family and friends may not be worth it
