A Missouri man was shaken up but unhurt after his car flipped over a guardrail on U.S. 460 in Bedford County on Friday afternoon.

Trooper M.J. Snow, with the Virginia State Police, said Timothy Wolff, 21, of Nixa, Mo., was driving his 2003 Mustang east on U.S. 460 in front of the Budget Inn near Pisgah Road at about 4 p.m.

Wolff, Snow said, took his eyes off the road for a moment, running his wheels into the median, then overcorrected, hitting the guardrail.

His car flipped over the rail and rolled down a short embankment, landing on its top.

Wolff was wearing his seatbelt at the time, which probably saved his life, Wolff said.

He estimated three sections of the guardrail will need to be repaired. The Mustang was a total loss.

Wolff was charged with reckless driving.
