Three teens hospitalized in Bedford County wreck

Three juveniles were taken to Bedford Memorial Hospital on Monday after their vehicle overturned in Bedford County.

A 17-year-old male was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier south on Moneta Road, just south of Virginia 24, when the vehicle ran off the road, said Virginia State Police Sgt. Bob Carpentieri. The driver overcorrected, causing the car to turn over.

There were two 17-year-old female passengers. They and the driver were wearing seat belts, Carpentieri said.

They were taken to Bedford Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was charged with failure to maintain control of the vehicle.
