Barr Laboratories’ parent company reports rising profits
The company that bought the Barr Laboratories facility in Bedford County last year reported on Tuesday that its profits continue to rise.
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., based in Jerusalem, had net income of $649 million in the third quarter, a 2.7 percent increase from the $631 million it earned in the third quarter of 2008, a news release said.
The company had net sales of $3.5 billion, a 25 percent increase from the third quarter of 2008. It also had record quarterly cash flow of more than $1 billion.
Teva employs around 600 people at its facility in Forest that makes generic drugs.
