Appomattox

Bedford
- The following Moneta Elementary School students were named to the All-A Honor Roll for the first nine weeks: Kelly Richardson, Shannon Richardson, Rachel Bishop, Paul Brunell and Archer Merritt, fourth grade; and Dreston Hawthorne and John Kuczmarski, fifth grade.
- The following Body Camp Elementary School students were named to the All-A Honor Roll for the first nine weeks: Abigail Adkins, Faith Ashman, Virginia Ausband, Dorian Delaney, River Hughes, Grayson Overstreet, Austin Stump, Alyssa Tuck and Kailee Tuck.
Nelson County
- The Nelson County High School FFA team placed sixth out of 42 teams in the National FFA Farm Business Management Career Development Event held recently in Indianapolis. NCHS student David McCann was named the top individual in the contest. The following team members earned gold medals in the competition: Jonathan Britts, Rebecca Carter and David McCann. Sergio Sanchez earned a silver medal.

Campbell County
- Nov. 10: ‘Partners for Safe Teen Driving’ Program, 6 p.m. at Rustburg High School. Program is for Campbell County 10th-graders and their parents.
- Nov. 17: End of the second six weeks
Rustburg Middle School
- Through Nov. 24: Canned food drive sponsored by the SCA. Admission to the faculty vs. eighth-grade football game on Nov. 24 will be one canned food item per student. All food will be given to Rural Emergency Assistance Program. Breakfast will be served to the homeroom collecting the most canned food.
- Rustburg Middle School T-shirts are on sale in the main office. Youth sizes (white), $8; adult sizes (red), $10
- RMS is collecting the following items during the school year: General Mills Box Tops, drink tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and used postage stamps. Give these items to homeroom teachers.
Brookville High School
- BHS is competing with Rustburg High School to see which school can collect the most donations through their canned food drives. Cash donations are also accepted (50 cents = one can). For more information, contact Misty Elmore at .

E.C. Glass High School
- Nov. 16: E.C. Glass Orchestra Contest, 7 p.m. in the E.C. Glass Auditorium. Concert is free and open to the public.
- The E.C. Glass Drama Department is organizing an All-Alumni Reunion. A variety of reunion events are scheduled for Feb. 19-21, 2010 and alumni from throughout the years are encouraged to attend. All former students who participated in Drama, Technical Theatre and Orchestra Pit while attending E.C. Glass are asked to contact the Drama Department at 522-3712 or for more information.
- The 2009-2010 Glass Yearbook order form is available online at the E.C. Glass website.
- Throughout the school year, the Mercy Care Council of E.C. Glass is collecting used books, broken iPods (include note to explain what is broken) and used cell phones. All proceeds benefit the Mercy Care Center in Nairobi, Kenya.
