Altavista art show reception Sunday

The Altavista Area YMCA/Arts Council will honor four area authors and artists Sunday with a reception in the Athletic Center.

The event, set for 2 to 4 p.m. with free refreshments, will recognize Nancy Wood and Emily Thompson, whose work is currently on display at the YMCA.

Two local authors, retired Altavista High School teacher Jim Hamlette of Brookneal and Rustburg High School teacher Mary Bailey of Rustburg, will sign their books.
