The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries released the name of a woman hurt in a boating accident Sunday.
Shannon Harris, 23, of Bedford, was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Sunday after her personal watercraft collided with a pontoon boat on Smith Mountain Lake around 5 p.m.
Martin said Sunday that Harris suffered head and leg injuries in the collision and was pulled from the water by a boater.
The accident occurred near channel marker R27A, not far from the Bridgewater Marina.
As of Monday afternoon, Harris was listed in serious condition, a spokesperson for Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital said.
DGIF officials said they are interviewing witnesses and no charges have been filed.
