A Lynchburg firefighter received a non-life threatening injury while responding to a fire at a business in Forest on Sunday around 6 p.m.

The fire was contained within minutes and originated from an electrical junction box at Seckman Printing Inc. on Enterprise Drive near Wyndhurst close to U.S. 221, said Scott Hudson of the Forest Volunteer Fire Department.

Smoke was visible from the warehouse of the business around 6 p.m. An employee driving by at the time reported it to dispatchers, Hudson said. The fire caused about $2,000 in damages to the inside of the warehouse, he said.

Crews shut down traffic in both lanes around the business for roughly an hour. The firefighter sustained an accidental hand injury related to equipment and not the fire, Hudson said. He was taken to the hospital.
