GOP’s Wilson faces rebuke today from House Dems
Published: September 15, 2009
WASHINGTON—Barring a last-minute apology to Congress, Republican Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina faces what is likely to be a partisan vote scolding him for shouting “You lie!“ at President Barack Obama.
Democratic aides said House leaders were preparing to introduce a resolution of disapproval this afternoon, with a vote likely later in the day.
Democrats confirmed last night that they were moving forward with the rebuke.
Wilson has apologized to the White House for his outburst last week during Obama’s speech to Congress. But Democrats say Wilson also should apologize to Congress for what they call an unprecedented breach of decorum.
Wilson has refused to do so, saying his initial apology was sufficient.

Thank you for your input. For what exactly is Mr Wilson to apologize? Are you concerned with the violation of House rules? The volume of his comment? The interruption while the president was speaking? Which of these offends you?
I bet you did CKJ. Were you waving the Confederate flag at the same time?
So, when your children yell rudely at their teachers or a policeman they “disagree” with—- be proud. Remember who “learned them” their manners.
I shouted the same thing at my TV. Wilson should never have offered the first apology. Obama should apologize to the WHOLE COUNTRY for the lies he repeats.
Wilson should apologize to the WHOLE COUNTRY!
What a fine example of good manners and democracy in action he set for the young people of America.
By all means kids talk—no, YELL back at your teachers. There is no reason to show respect to ANYONE you don’t want to.
If that is the kind of America you want to live in show your support for Wilson.
