Home invasion leads to drug arrests
Two Bedford County residents were arrested Thursday after police found marijuana in their home in the course of a home invasion investigation, authorities said.
According to officials with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, emergency dispatchers received a call to 6497 Bellvue Road in Forest at about 4 a.m.
The caller reported that three armed, masked subjects had forced their way into the caller’s residence, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies responding to the scene found Robert Krebs, 22, and his girlfriend Alison Wood, 21.
Investigators said Krebs reported being assaulted several times and hit in the head with a handgun as two of the intruders held Wood at gunpoint.
Krebs said he was able to get out of the house during the attack and that one of the suspects fired a gun at him as he was running away, the release said.
One of the men also shot and killed Krebs’s dog, officials said.
The three subjects fled on foot and were last seen running down Bellvue Road toward Thomas Jefferson Road.
While investigating the scene, deputies found a large amount of marijuana in the house, according to the news release, and arrested both Krebs and Wood.
Both were charged with felony possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, officials said.
Authorities identified one suspect in the home invasion as Dewayne Andrea Irving, 20, of Monroe Street in Lynchburg, and said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators obtained warrants on Irving for burglary with the intent to commit robbery, attempted robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, attempted first-degree murder, abduction, malicious wounding and killing a companion animal.
Investigators had not identified the other two subjects.
Anyone with any information on this crime or Irving’s whereabouts is asked to call the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 586-4800 or Central Virginia Crime Stoppers at (888) 798-5900.

Lets see if CHEMO goes to JAIL this time, He is the one that was robbed and has been in trouble with the LAW for DRUGS many many times and seems like he must be an informant as he never seems to pull any real time. They should put him UNDER the jail this time. I don’t see how our law system keeps letting this little trouble maker walk. They should put him and the people that robbed him away for along time and keep them away from others. I think time has proven he is not going to strighten up or do the right thing. You know 3 strikes and you are out, well how many strikes is he going to get. His DAD needs to stop balling him out and let him learn his lesson before something else happens to him.
