Longtime E.C. Glass principal to retire

Longtime E.C. Glass High School principal Susan Morrison is retiring at the end of this school year.

Lynchburg City Schools Superintendent Paul McKendrick made the announcement following Tuesday’s school board meeting.
“I tried to keep her another year,” he said. “She’s done a great job.”

McKendrick said he would follow the same procedure to replace Morrison that he did last year when Heritage High School principal Robert Miller retired. The process, McKendrick said, will start with speaking to Glass staff to see what they want in a principal.

He hopes to have a replacement named by the end of the school year so Morrison can aid in the transition.
