Roanoke man indicted in Bedford County burglaries

A Roanoke man was indicted Friday on charges relating to a string of burglaries in Bedford County.

Michael Shannon Moore, 33, of Stacie Drive in Roanoke, was indicted by a Bedford County grand jury on seven counts of statutory burglary, six counts of grand larceny, three counts of possession of burglary tools and one count of attempted statutory burglary.

The daylight burglaries happened between March 13 and April 23 in the Moneta, Thaxton, Goodview and Vinton areas, according to a Bedford County Sheriff’s Office news release at the time.

The release, issued by Maj. Ricky Gardner, stated that stolen property from Bedford County burglaries was found in Moore’s vehicle when Montgomery County deputies arrested him April 28.

Moore was also charged in Montgomery County with possession of burglary tools, grand larceny, entering a home to commit assault and battery and being a felon in possession of a firearm in crimes alleged to have happened April 24, according to online court records.
