Roanoke TV station won’t air GOP ad criticizing Perriello

A Roanoke-based television station will not run an ad targeting Rep. Tom Perriello, the station’s president and manager said Thursday.

Jeffrey Marks, of WDBJ Television Inc., did not comment on the reasons why the ad will not be aired.

“I don’t characterize why an advertiser is or is not running on our air,” Marks said.

The ad, paid for by the National Republican Congressional Committee, targets Perriello’s support of the Clean Energy and Security Act, also known as the cap-and-trade bill, which was approved last week in the House of Representatives.

Perriello, D-5th District, is the only representative targeted in the ad, which claims he voted with President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “over and over.”

The nonpartisan political analysis Web site, http://www.factcheck.org, published an analysis critical of the ad, calling the NRCC “wrong” in the amount of money it claimed the bill would cost a family of four. The site claims the NRCC misinterpreted data from a study performed by the Heritage Foundation analysis calculating the GDP loss in 2020.

Marks said though the station did not air the ad, that should not be interpreted as an agreement with the site’s analysis of the ad.

“We didn’t say it was false or misleading. The Democratic Party may have, or Perriello may have,” he said.

“I’m not making a connection between (Perriello’s concerns) and it not running,” he added.

Stumper, why don’t you move to Texas with the other bum. Or better yet stuff your words, you know where.

If you went to the SBE web site and checked the 5th District you will find out that Obama road Perriello’s coat tails in all the districts and cities he carried. Yes Perriello received more votes then Obama, so when you speak you are speaking out the place you sit.

Seems you are also a one sided person with a one sided mind. You comment about the times, but say nothing about the Republican Joe Scarbourgh show.

What, You surprised the New York Times loves him? Maybe he should move there and rep NY instead of Virginia. He is more aligned with them than the Majority of Virginians. And it ain’t like he got near 50% of the vote in the election either, so without the Messiah’s coat tails to hang on to, he will probably be out soon anyway.
BTW, Nice C%P.

On Tuesday, the New York Times profiling Tom’s leadership on the recent American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. They called him “an unlikely star.“ The story reports: Perriello has loudly defended his vote as the morally correct course of action, regardless of whether it costs him a seat in Congress, and aggressively criticized House Republicans for their own attacks on the bill.

“Republicans are putting their partisan interests for 2010 ahead of their patriotic interest—you can win an election on that but you can lose your soul,“ Perriello said in an interview last week.

Last week Tom also appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, impressing the Republican host Joe Scarborough and his colleagues to the point that they raved, “He’s a smart guy” and “Very impressive.“

Tom Perriello was never going to sit on the sidelines in Congress. He believes that we can no longer wait to address energy independence, our national security and the need for new jobs in Southside. He is finding new solutions by working with small business leaders, farmers, scientists, and veterans from across the Fifth District. Last week, he unveiled a comprehensive clean energy blueprint to help put the 5th District at the forefront of the new energy economy.

Thank You for your service (me).

A Little History though.

JFK-Democrat, LBJ= Democrat Richard Nixon= Republican

Jfk got us involved and we were not attacked. LBJ added more troops. Note always a Democratically controlled Congress then. Nixon finally pulled the plug on it as the people were not behind it.
60,000 Americans dead, 2 Million Vietnamese.

Well (me), hopefully not as many as died in JFK’s/LBJ’s Vietnam War. Thankfully, Nixon got us out and I didn’t get drafted in.
