Bedford County Schools to hold talks on system’s facilities

The Bedford County School Board decided Thursday to hold a workshop Sept. 17 to discuss a long-term plan for facilities.

One item up for discussion is a new gymnasium at Bedford Primary School in the city of Bedford. The school, which serves more than 300 elementary-age students, according to its Web site, doesn’t have a gym.

The school division has more than $1 million in funds left over from recent construction at Jefferson Forest High School and Staunton River High School but hasn’t yet decided on allocating it for the gym proposal.

Correction: The Bedford County School Board will hold its workshop Sept. 17, not Sept. 16.
