Watching for even more snow? Keep looking north.
On Sunday, the Lynchburg area could see the arrival of an Alberta clipper—a quick low-pressure area sweeping in from Canada.
And there’s a “slight chance” it could bring more snow, says WSLS meteorologist Patrick McKee.
Meanwhile, the Lynchburg area today and tomorrow is expected to receive up to five inches of snow and sleet accumulation.
This winter has been unusual for the area, with multiple snowstorms causing numerous car accidents, closing schools and shutting down some businesses.
Mid-December saw a snow that broke records for the most snow in a 24-hour period.
Then, Mother Nature dumped another foot or so on at the turn of the New Year.
And last weekend brought even more snow—about seven inches in Lynchburg, according to the National Weather service, which brought the season’s snow total to 31.9 inches.
