Wounded man taken to hospital

One man was taken to the hospital, and one person arrested after police responded to a malicious wounding on Park Avenue on Friday evening.

Lynchburg emergency dispatchers said the call came in at 9:49 p.m.

Sgt. Doug Childress, with the Lynchburg Police Department, said the victim was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital with “a couple of wounds,” but he didn’t know the man’s condition.

Childress said one person was arrested in connection with the incident shortly afterward.

Neither the name of the victim or the suspect was released.
