National Geographic Adventure magazine lists Lynchburg as a top town

WASHINGTON (AP) - National Geographic Adventure magazine has rated Lynchburg as one of the best small towns in the country in its list of Top 50 Adventure Towns.

The magazine's September issue names the country's best places to live, play and seek adventure.

The list of best waterfront towns are Annapolis, Md.; Waimea, Hawaii; Fond du Lac, Wis.; Newport, R.I.; Rockland, Maine; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mystic, Conn.; and Beaufort, S.C.

The magazine says the best small towns include Lynchburg; Iowa City, Iowa; Fayetteville, W.Va.; Spearfish, S.D.; Bloomington, Ind.; and Northampton, Mass.
