Va. Guard unit back from Iraq

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — About 150 Virginia National Guard members who have been serving in Iraq will return to their armory in Charlottesville late Thursday.

The soldiers are assigned to A Company of the 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

State guard officials said the scheduled 4 p.m. arrival time could change.

The Virginia unit arrived at their demobilization station -Camp Shelby, Mississippi, on Sunday after serving in Iraq since September 2007.
