Twice in the past two weeks, people have been robbed at gunpoint in Lynchburg.
In the most recent incident, on Monday, a man was robbed at 14th and Fillmore streets shortly before midnight, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.
The victim told police that four men carrying guns — three with shotgun or rifle-type weapons and one with a handgun — walked up to him and demanded money. They were dressed in dark clothing and wearing hoodies; one had a red bandana over his face.
The suspects took the man’s wallet and left.
On July 25 just before midnight, two people reported being robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot at 2414 Memorial Ave., police said.
Two people walked up to the two victims and started a conversation. Then one suspect pulled out a black handgun and robbed the victims of their money and other items.
The two suspects were last seen running from the parking lot toward Wadsworth Street, police said.
The first suspect is described as a dark-skinned black man, about 6 feet tall and wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and a red hat. The second is described as a light-skinned black man, about 5 feet, 5 inches, wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a red hat.
Lt. Jeff Bauserman said investigators do not yet know if the two crimes are related.
