Quick report on Kyle O'Donnell, who was injured at practice earlier this week. The Flames linebacker will miss 4-6 weeks recovering from an MCL tear in his right knee, LU coach Danny Rocco said Friday. There was no damage to the ACL, so that's good news for O'Donnell. MCL recoveries are pretty routine and not nearly as exhausting as ACL recoveries.
O'Donnell and LB Pierre Tinsley (knee) are the only serious injuries in a training camp full of nagging ones. Cornerback Pat Calvary has been out for a couple of days with a sore groin and receiver Dominic Bolden (groin) hasn't gone full speed this week. Both will be fine by the time game-week preparations begin for North Greenville Aug. 25.
Quick scheduling note: For anyone who was going to attend practice Saturday, it's been moved up to 9:30-11 a.m. at Williams Stadium, and most of the practice will be special teams work. Media day is Sunday afternoon at the stadium. I'm hoping for better weather than we got up at VMI today -- 60 degrees and soaking rain in Lexington. Funny, I haven't felt a drop in Lynchburg in weeks.
