A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 14 for a Nelson County father and daughter who died in a terrorist attack that began Nov. 26 in Mumbai, India.
The memorial for Alan Scherr, 58, and his daughter, Naomi, 13, will be at the Synchronicity Foundation, a spiritual meditation community that has facilities at 3518 Adial Road, which is between Va. 6 and Va. 151 in Nelson County.
Both died Nov. 26 when gunmen fired into a café where they were eating after an evening program, while both were on a spiritual pilgrimage to Mumbai.
Four others were wounded and three of them were hospitalized.
They were in a party of 26 associated with the nonprofit foundation. The spiritual leader of the foundation, Master Charles Cannon, identified their remains after he and others hid in their rooms for 45 hours.
