Gilmore cancels LU stop

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Former Virginia governor and U.S. Senate hopeful Jim Gilmore canceled his planned stop at Liberty University today, due to poor weather conditions.

Gilmore was scheduled to give a few comments at Liberty's convocation, and later to speak at an event sponsored by the school's College Republicans.

Campaign officials said Gilmore's address would likely center on foreign policy issues and national security, as well as his campaign.

Thursday forecasts spoiled those plans, with predictions of snow and freezing rain lasting into this morning.
