A fire sparks in a Bedford County family's pick-up truck, and spreads to part of their home near Stewartsville.

The flames started in a Ford F-series pick-up truck this afternoon, parked next to the home. The fire then spread to the home.

Fortunately, firefighters were able to put it out before the flames caused serious damage to the house. But the truck is a total loss.

Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked the fire. The family believes it may have something to do with a recall the truck is under.

Ford trucks and SUVs have been linked in the past to fires, from a problem with the cruise control wiring. That recall forced Ford to recall 800,000 trucks.
