Growth in Moneta recently has led Bedford County officials to consistently review residential and commercial development.
A local church is next.
Eastlake Community Church, which currently is located on Virginia 122, will tonight present its case for a special-use permit to build a new sanctuary to the Board of Supervisors.
The board will hold a public hearing on the request for the church to build on 10 acres on Hendricks Store Road close to the Sunset Cay development.
Churches are designated as special uses in commercial and residential districts, which calls for a permit from the county — a process that officials are closely re-examining.
Tonight’s hearing starts at 7:30 p.m. at 122 East Main St. in the city of Bedford.
