Bedford County School Board to meet

The Bedford County School Board will have a 6 p.m. closed meeting and a 7 p.m. regular meeting today at the Bedford Science and Technology Center auditorium.

At the regular meeting, the board will:

- Consider approving the 2008-09 Code of Student Conduct with no proposed changes from the 2007-08 code.

- Consider approving three school board policies that establish a voluntary retirement savings program and bar the employment of or contractual services of convicted criminals.

- Receive a report on all high school classes that are scheduled to enroll less than 15 students in 2008-09.

- Hear a first reading of dozens of revisions and new sections to school board policies.

- Discuss the feasibility of the school system temporarily moving to a four-day work week during the summer months.
