Bedford County School Board to meet today

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Bedford County School Board will have a 6 p.m. closed meeting and a 7 p.m. regular meeting today at the Bedford Science and Technology Center auditorium.

At the regular meeting, the board will:

- Consider approving an application for participation in the Virginia Department of Education’s 2008-09 Virginia Preschool Initiative program.

- Consider altering the school district’s senior exam exemption policy as of the 2008-09 school year so that exemptions be allowed for final exams only. The change also would remove a current requirement that students have no more than 20 absences in a school year to qualify for exam exemptions.

To see the school board’s full agenda and related documents online, go to www.bedford.k12.va.us, click ‘BoardDocs,’ and select a meeting on the left side to view agenda details.

To obtain more information before a meeting, citizens may contact Ryan Edwards, spokesman for Bedford County public schools, at redwards @bedford.k12.va.us
