A teenager arrested in an undercover operation last school year at Amherst County High School was sentenced Tuesday to a month in jail after pleading guilty to drug possession.
Jody Ramsey, 18, pleaded guilty to possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was sentenced to six months, but five months of that term were suspended, Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Maddox said.
Ramsey was arrested in May along with Amherst star football quarterback Peter Rose and five other juveniles accused of selling drugs to an Amherst County deputy who posed as a student.
A county grand jury scheduled to meet Oct. 14 is expected to consider charges that Rose also possessed marijuana with intent to distribute and two felony charges of selling drugs on or near school grounds.
