A bullet pierced the bedroom of a house on Pierce Street earlier this month and police are looking for the public’s help to find the shooter.

The drive-by shooting happened on Sunday, Sept. 7 around 12:45 a.m. in the 1500 block of Pierce Street, police said. Police are not releasing the exact address at the request of the residents, whom they said are still shaken up by the shooting.

A witness said a vehicle, possibly silver, drove down Pierce Street and fired about six times at the house. One bullet pierced a bedroom wall where the resident was sleeping. The two people in the car were described as black men.

The Lynchburg Police Department is also looking for help in solving a grand larceny at Lynchburg College.

Sometime between Sept. 3 and Sept. 4, someone took six Carrier air conditioning units from the college’s Physical Plant building at 1500 Lakeside Drive.

The units were estimated to be worth $7,600.

Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 798-5900.

Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
