-Sept. 26 Fourth Annual Golf Tournament at Mountain View Golf Course in Appomattox, noon registration and lunch followed by shotgun start of the captain’s choice tournament at 1 p.m. Registration is $60 per golfer, $240 per foursome. Lynchburg
-Heritage High School student Candler Paige has been elected lieutenant governor of the Capital District of the Key Club for the 2008-2009 school year. Paige served as the HHS Key Club president for the 2007-2008 school year. As a board member, she will attend district and national Key Club conferences and meetings.
-The following Heritage High School students were elected Student Council Association officers for the 2008-2009 school year: Marquita Ferguson, president, Ryan Davis, vice president, and Kyle Tenny, school board representative.
-Heritage High School senior Benjamin Karaus was recently named a 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program semifinalist.
Private Schools
-One hundred percent of the students in grades pre-K through fifth participated in Holy Cross Regional Catholic School’s Campaign 130 fundraising event. Each class met or exceeded its fundraising goal.
