Appomattox
- Appomattox Middle School seventh-graders recently voted to give the Pedestal Award of High Honor to the following staff members: Nadine Pannell (support staff) and Laura Taylor (teacher).
- The Appomattox County School Board recognized the following students and staff members at their March 26 meeting: Chandler Reid of Appomattox Elementary School, third place in the Regional Spelling Bee; Appomattox County High School student Cole Dow, first place in Automotive Servicing in the 3rd District SkillsUSA Automotive Contest; Appomattox County High School student Kyle Primm, recognized for extinguishing a car fire in the Auto Mechanics Shop; Albion Strout, ACHS auto mechanics teacher, recognized for extinguishing a fire on a student’s hands in the Auto Mechanics Shop; Stephanie Allen, guidance counselor at ACHS, named ‘School Counselor of the Year’ for the Local Charter of the Lynchburg Area Counselors Association; Camille Rabon, music teacher and band director for Appomattox Middle and High schools, recipient of the Yale Distinguished Music Educator Award; Appomattox County Schools, awarded the Division Leader Award by the Southside Virginia Regional Technology Consortium; Susan Fisher, recipient of the SVRTC Technology Support Award; and Jason Wells, recipient of the SVRTC Technology Teacher Award.

Bedford
- The Jefferson Forest High School Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble took the Gold Medal as Class PSA2 Champions at the Atlantic Indoor Association Championships held March 29 at Potomac High School. The following students were members of the ensemble: Kyle Veres, Coty Heiser, James Gurdal, Kevin Wheeler, Emily Wheeler, Nathan Moffat, Sarah Chan, Kaitlyn Dougherty, Chris Acquafredda, Laura Francis, John Burns, Dylan Bishop, Dylan Barber, Jin Know, Ben Hill, Andrea Gingrich, Jake Snow, Ashley Kim, Sarah Boyd, Nick Guzek, Carter Layne, A.J. Warner, Chris Cousins, Sidney Coates, Steven Kurasz, Samantha Wooldridge and Hannah Frank. The JF Winter Colorguard took the Bronze Medal for third place in Class CGA2 at the competition. - Gladys Elementary School student Paul Morton took second place in the Campbell County Young Authors Contest and will advance to the regional competition.
