Rep. Tom Perriello plans to hold 21 meetings around the 5th District during August with constituents who want to meet with him one-on-one.
At the “Tom in Your Town” events, people can discuss policy, offer suggestions or get help with federal programs including Social Security and veterans benefits.
The first meeting near Lynchburg will be held Saturday in Bedford, at 11 a.m. at the Bedford Elementary School, 806 Tiger Trail.
Others, all during Congress’ August recess, will be held:
• Aug. 20, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson Center, 8445 Thomas Nelson Highway, Lovingston.
• Aug. 28, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Campbell County Technical Center, 194 Dennis Riddle Drive, Rustburg.
• Aug. 31, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Appomattox Community Center, 220 Community Lane, Appomattox.
