One man was killed in a wreck in Nelson County on Saturday afternoon, state police said.

Dispatcher Rod McCoy released information from a report by Trooper A.T. Covey, who investigated the wreck.

McCoy said Micajah Hicks, of the Charlottesville area, died when his Chevrolet pickup collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser at about 2 p.m. on U.S. 250, less than a mile west of Virginia 6.

McCoy said the report indicated that Hicks lost control of the vehicle while traveling east on U.S. 250.

The Land Cruiser also was traveling east, McCoy said.

Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene, and McCoy said he did not know if any charges would be filed in the wreck.
