Lynchburg School Board has canceled its Thursday meeting.
Schools spokeswoman Leigh Forrester said officials decided against holding the special budget meeting because of statewide budget issues and the fact city leadership granted an extension on the division’s budget deadline.
When the board meets again on its regularly scheduled meeting date, March 3, officials are expected to talk about the 2009-2010 budget. Although, Forrester said officials aren’t sure if they will be able to vote on a final budget then.
The board meets at 5:30 p.m. in the school administration building, located at 915 Court St.
