As many as 25 parked vehicles in Lynchburg were damaged early Wednesday in a rash of what police called random vandalism.

Lynchburg police said the vehicles were intentionally damaged in several areas of the city, including neighborhoods near Langhorne Road, Memorial Avenue and Park Avenue. No thefts were associated with the incidents.

Police said they had received reports that a blue or green older-model van, possibly a Dodge, may have been involved.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Lynchburg Police Department at 455-6041 or Central Virginia Crime Stoppers at (888) 798-5900. All tips given are confidential.
