Motorcycle accident kills Amherst County man

An Amherst County man is dead after a motorcycle wreck in Bedford County this morning, according to Virginia State Police.

Sgt. Bob Carpentieri said at 8:20 a.m., Jack Rodney Williams, 62, of Monroe, lost control of his 2004 Suzuki motorcycle.

Williams ran his motorcycle off the right side of Virginia 122, south of Sedelia and Virginia 639, Carpentieri said.

Williams was taken to Bedford Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Carpentieri said.

The wreck is still under investigation.
