A drive-by shooting in Lynchburg left one man injured and two faces charges.
The shooting happened just before midnight Wednesday, in the 1700 block of Taylor Street, according to a Lynchburg Police Department news release.
Quincy Orlando Petty Sr., 25, was found with a gunshot wound to his arm, the release said. He was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses told police they saw a burgundy Chevrolet Cavalier in the area, the release said. A few minutes later, officers saw a vehicle fitting that description with three men and a juvenile inside.
One of the occupants —Nicardo Cortez Wood, 30, of Lynchburg — was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possessing a firearm by a convicted felon, shooting from a vehicle, and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
Another man in the car — Michael Marcus Garland Jr., 18 of Lynchburg — remains at large. He is facing charges of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possessing a firearm by a convicted felon, shooting from a vehicle and shooting into an occupied dwelling. He is also wanted by the Virginia State Police for failing to register as a sex offender.
