The Lynchburg City School Board said Tuesday they plan to discuss the division’s grading scale at the annual board retreat.
A group of Lynchburg parents, who formed the group Fairgrade Lynchburg, have requested a study and subsequent discussion on changes to the division’s scale. The group favors a 10-point grading scale where an A would begin at 90 percent, a B at 80 percent and so on.
Superintendent Paul McKendrick said it would be unlikely the board would reach a consensus during the retreat, but it would be an opportunity to begin the discussion.
