Money flows into House of Delegates campaigns

»  Comments | Post a Comment

At least $130,000 has been raised by Lynchburg's two candidates for the Republican nomination for the House of Delegates, a race that will be decided in tomorrow's primary election.

Scott Garrett reported raising $86,853 through May 27, and Jeff Helgeson reported raising $43,178. Most of that money has been spent on mailing campaign brochures to likely voters, and some has been spent on yard signs. Both Helgeson and Garrett are members of Lynchburg City Council.

The winner of tomorrow's primary will run in November against incumbent Del. Shannon Valentine, a Democrat, who has raised just over $83,000.

The fund-raising reports are available on www.vpap.org
