Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office are looking for information on a vehicle that was seen near the site where two local Virginia Tech students were killed in August.
Authorities say a silver or gray minivan was spotted on Craig Creek Road at Caldwell Fields the night of Aug. 26. No one driving a vehicle of that description has come forward, authorities said in a release.
Heidi Childs, of Forest, was a Virginia Tech freshman and David Metzler, of Campbell County, was a sophomore. They were killed at Caldwell Field on Craig Creek Road in Montgomery County on Aug. 26. A hiker discovered their bodies the next morning.
A reward of more than $60,000 is available for anyone who provides information leading to an arrest and conviction. Contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office with any information at (540) 382-2951.
