ACHIEVEMENTS

Appomattox

- The following Appomattox Elementary School students were recently recognized as Reading Explorers on the Treasure Ship For Success: Jonathan Hamlett, Xavier Alexander, Chase Coleman, Makayla Boyce, Mikayla Glover, Makari Ferguson, Marisol Ramos, Brianna Wright and Christopher Dodson.

Lynchburg

- Linkhorne Middle School students collected 1,137 cans of food and more than $200 to buy turkeys for the needy. The food will be distributed to the Lynchburg Area Food Bank, selected Linkhorne families and the Lynchburg Realtor’s Association Outreach Program.

- Heritage and E.C. Glass high schools raised $4,702 and purchased 488 turkeys for area families through the E.C. Glass vs. Heritage ‘Turkey Bowl’ football game held in October.

- The following William M. Bass Elementary School students were recently named ‘Terrific Kids’ by the Lynchburg Kiwanis Club: Chyara Moore, Deshawn Patterson, Damion Mosby, Airic Cook, Donyale Goode, Jakell Jones, Teyanna Scott, Lauryn Robertson, Hope Brooks, Harold Burton, Zoe Jones, Tyrese Slaughter, Emmett Anderson, Colby Davis, Camya Jones, Kristine Burley and Craig Harris.
