Lynchburg to get $18 million for Sandusky Middle School construction

Lynchburg will receive $18 million in federal stimulus money to help build its new Sandusky Middle School.

Gov. Timothy Kaine said in a news release that the money is part of $71.6 million in school construction bonds for eight projects in seven Virginia areas.

The no-interest bonds were established by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, also known as the stimulus package.

"I am certain that this funding will ease some of the need in these communities by creating jobs and improving learning environments for our children," Kaine said.
