Crews are now conducting demolition and groundwork on the future site of Lynchburg’s second Walmart super center. The development property on Old Forest Road covers close to 33 acres, according to city records.

The new Walmart is expected to span 189,000 square feet and employ around 350 people when complete. Work on the site began in August. The building is scheduled to be complete in 2010. No specific target opening date for the store has been announced.
