It’s not unusual for Mark Lloyd, chairman of the Lynchburg Tea Party, to be quoted in a national, mainstream-media article about politics.
But in Friday’s USA Today, Lloyd’s photograph appears on the second page of a Page 1 story with three other tea party leaders, including Rep. Michelle Bachman, R-Minn., who founded the Congressional Tea Party Caucus.
In the article, Lloyd tells USA Today that the tea party movement is like an attitude, “and the attitude is of course just visceral patriotism, and a focus on limited government, fiscal responsibility, constitutional government or governance and personal liberties.”
Appearing alongside the photos of Bachman and Lloyd were pictures of Chris Littleton, head of a tea party group in Cincinnati, and C.L. Bryant, a minister in Louisiana.
Former 5th District Republican candidate and Bedford County resident Bradley Rees is also quoted in the USA Today article.
