RICHMOND -- The House of Delegates rushed a bill through today that would suspend a rate increase that Appalachian Power Co. imposed in December.
The bill still awaits Senate action, but upon Senate passage and Gov. Bob McDonnell’s signature, the bill could take effect immediately.
For a homeowner, with a January bill in the neighborhood of $500, the measure could mean up to $50 a month in savings. The suspension of the increase will last only until August.
