McDonnell to sign APCo rate cut

»  Comments | Post a Comment

RICHMOND — Gov. Bob McDonnell plans to sign legislation Wednesday that would reduce Appalachian Power Co. bills by about 12 percent.

Both the House of Delegates and Senate approved the measure on an emergency basis, meaning that it takes effect upon the governor’s signature instead of the July 1 date for most legislation.

Spokesmen for the power company have said bills issued after the signing date will not include an interim rate increase, which the company started collecting on an interim basis. The State Corporation Commission is still reviewing the proposed increase.
