Authorities have arrested a second person in connection with an 8-month-old boy suffering burns on New Year's Eve.
Robert Bruce Levalley, 21, of Old Wright Shop Road in Madison Heights, was arrested Thursday and charged with reckless disregard of a child, authorities said.
Sandrina Mae Busick, 19, also of Old Wright Shop Road, already faces a charge of felony child abuse and neglect in connection with the same incident.
Tthe boy, who "had been burned in several locations on his body," was treated at a local hospital and later transferred to the University of Virginia Medical Center, authorities said.
Levalley is out on bond and awaits a preliminary hearing in Amherst County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Authorities declined to release more information.
